About Aimee
Aimee Barnes is a 20 year veteran
guide and professional member of the AMGA. A life long skier and climber Aimee
grew up in South East Idaho. She learned to Ski at an early age in the Tetons.
She was introduced to climbing around Pocatello Idaho, including the City of
Rocks, in the early eighties. She has in-depth knowledge of the intermountain
region. Aimee first became involved with outdoor education working for the Idaho State University Outdoor Program while she attended college there in 1980. Her energies left the Outdoor Program setting and she began Guiding for the Stanley Idaho based Sawtooth Mountain Guides in 1986. In 1990 she took a brief hiatus from guiding to run the pro-purchase program for Black Diamond Equipment. In 1996 she was offered a position at Valdez Heli Ski Guides in Alaska. From there Aimee was back full time to pursue her passion for climbing, skiing and the love for the outdoors and guiding. Spending time between her homes in Southern Utah and Jackson Hole, Aimee's
personal ambitions make her a motivated climber and skier. She continues to
climb and ski at a high level along with developing her guiding skills and
